Magician WIP

WIP because I plan on animating this.


The original Magician is one of my favorite characters from Rayman 1. (Not that there were that many characters) Still, he definitely had the most personality. His extremely flamboyant way of speaking has stuck with my sister and I, and to this day, we imitate him. To me, he came off as a neutral, observer and storyteller to the events of the game- he helps Rayman occasionally, but only after Rayman hands over some tings and succeeds in a bonus trial. Being a magician, his almost sarcastic storytelling, and the way he only offers aid after payment, definitely gives him a trickster vibe, but I never felt that there was any underlying menacing intent in his character. Instead he struck me as the mysterious and fun "cheshire cat" type, that fit very nicely into the bizarre, whimsical feel of the original game.

The Rayman series kind of breaks my heart because of how it has been handled so incompetently.........but people don't seem to mind, so I'll just sit in my time out corner and give everyone the stink eye.
